Learning About Commercial HVAC Systems

Hello, my name is Jacob. I would like to talk about proper installation and repair of the HVAC system in your commercial building. Full scale HVAC systems for commercial buildings require ongoing maintenance and repairs to keep every floor and room at a comfortable temperature. These temperature control systems also control the air quality in the building by sending the airflow through filter elements. My site will cover all aspects of the upkeep needed for these systems. I will also talk about the benefits of keeping your air quality and temperatures at desirable levels. Thanks for coming to visit my website.

Not-So-Sweet Solutions: Be Cautious About Trying To Use Your Home's AC To Add Scent To Your Air

Isaiah Chapman

From costly scented oil plug-ins in every room to an endless amount of sprays, diffusers, or even wax warmers, you could spend a lot of money trying to make your home smell its best. This leads a lot of people looking for DIY solutions to keep their home smelling fresh. Because your central air system naturally disperses air flow throughout the home, you may think the idea of using it to also distribute fragrance is pretty sweet. However, using your central air system to also fragrance your home can also cause damages if you're not careful. There are a few ways you can cause damage to a central air system just by trying to make your home smell better.

Mistake: Spraying air freshener into your air filter.

Why? Your air filter is the central point of the air flow system. This is where the air is taken in to distribute to the rest of the system, so you may naturally come to the conclusion that if the filter itself smells good, the treated air will as well. While this is true, spray air fresheners contain components that are corrosive. Therefore, the residue that slips through with the air taken in could easily cause problems to the metal components of your air conditioner system. What you can do is invest in air filters that have fragrance incorporated right in them, which can be found at most retail or home improvement stores.

Mistake: Stuffing dryer sheets into your vents.

Why? With air already flowing through your vents, you may be tempted to stuff dryer sheets into the vents so the air can catch fragrance as it passes through. You will likely smell the fragrance when your air is on, but the problem with this technique is it can mean your air system will have to work harder to cool down your home. It is a better idea to tape the dryer sheep inside of the inner wall of the vent flat so the air can still flow, but you will also smell the fragrance.

Mistake: Dripping essential oils into your ducts.

Why? Using essential oils to fragrance your home is an awesome idea because just a few drops can go a long way. However, it is never a good idea to drizzle or drop these oils directly in your ducts by removing the vent registers. The oil can leave a residue inside your ducts that will collect dust and continue to accumulate over time. Dip a wooden clothespin into the essential oil of your choice, allow it to dry slightly, and pin it to the backside of the vent covers instead.
