Learning About Commercial HVAC Systems

Hello, my name is Jacob. I would like to talk about proper installation and repair of the HVAC system in your commercial building. Full scale HVAC systems for commercial buildings require ongoing maintenance and repairs to keep every floor and room at a comfortable temperature. These temperature control systems also control the air quality in the building by sending the airflow through filter elements. My site will cover all aspects of the upkeep needed for these systems. I will also talk about the benefits of keeping your air quality and temperatures at desirable levels. Thanks for coming to visit my website.

Use These Tips to Sleep Comfortably, Even with a Broken-Down Air Conditioner

Isaiah Chapman

When the air conditioner in your house breaks down, there's a little good news and a little bad news. The good news is that a local HVAC contractor will be able to repair the unit and restore the cool you've been enjoying, but the bad news is that you may have to endure a bit of heat inside the house until the unit is fixed. If you're out for most of the day, the heat won't be an issue—until you try to sleep. Setting up a fan can be helpful, but here are some other tactics to use as you attempt to sleep comfortably in the heat.

Soak a Bed Sheet

A simple way to remain cool as you try to fall asleep is to soak a thin bed sheet and then place it on top of your body. Often known as the "Egyptian method," sleeping under a wet bed sheet can cool your body's temperature as you lie in bed. Hold a bed sheet under the shower until it's fully saturated, and then wring it out to the point that it's no longer dripping. Then, hop into bed and cover yourself in the sheet. The water will evaporate overnight, but by that time you'll hopefully be sleeping soundly.

Sleep in Your Own Room

If you customarily sleep in the same bed as your spouse, you might wish to switch things up until your local HVAC contractor is able to fix your air conditioning. When two people are in the same bed, the heat released from each individual can actually warm the room—and the other person. If you have a spare bedroom, try relocating to that area for a night or two and see if you're able to sleep more soundly. Even setting up an air mattress elsewhere in the house—in the basement is ideal, given that it's cooler below ground—can be useful.

Keep a Mister Next to Your Bed

A spray bottle that can shoot a thin mist of water is ideal for keeping yourself cool when it's time for bed. Fill up a bottle with water and place it in the fridge for a couple hours in the evening. When you get into bed, mist your face and head, as well as any other parts of your body that feel hot. Keep the mister bottle within reach so that if you wake up feeling hot in the middle of the night, you can quickly mist yourself to cool down.
